The A. Lange & Sohne Up-Down Datograph 41mm watch. Model reference: 405.035. This is the updated version of the iconic Datograph in the noble metal of Platinum. The Datograph is in the Saxonia family of Lange watches. The Lange Datograph was launched in 1999 to critical acclaim, immediately becoming the modern, high-end chronograph. The name “Datograph” is derived from the fact that the piece contains a big date (“outsize date” as Lange calls it) and a chronograph. The black dial includes Lange’s patented large date display at 12 o’clock, flyback chronograph function with 30-minute register at 4 o’clock, small seconds subdial at 8 o’clock and power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. The watch features the completely in-house caliber L951.6 mechanical manual winding movement containing over 450 parts including 46 jewels with an approximate 60-hour power reserve. The exhibition caseback gives a peek at the sophisticated and intricate movement. The back gives a view of the hairspring and balance wheel with intricate engravings around them. It also gives visibility to the chronograph function when in use. Included is a hand-stitched, black crocodile strap with an A. Lange & Sohne, platinum ardillon buckle. Case, dial and movement signed A. Lange & Sohne. The watch comes in original packaging, with a set of documents.
