The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Racing Green is the latest calendar watch in the Big Pilot’s range. Limited to 250 pieces, it takes its name from the dial in a striking racing green hue. The case is made of black zirconium oxide ceramic, a high-tech material IWC pioneered in the watch industry during the 1980s. The conical crown and casing ring are made of Ceratanium. Developed by IWC, this ground-breaking new material is as light and robust as titanium and, at the same time, similarly hard and scratch-resistant as ceramic. The perpetual calendar exemplifies IWC’s distinctive engineering approach with its high robustness and ease of use. The intricate mechanical program automatically recognizes the different months’ lengths as well as the leap years and will require no correction until 2100. Showing the moon as seen from the northern and southern hemispheres, the moon phase display is so precise that it will only need to be adjusted by one day after 577,7 years. All calendar displays can be advanced simply via the crown. The IWC-manufactured 52615 calibre features a Pellaton automatic winding system with components made of virtually wear-free ceramic and builds up a power reserve of 7 days in two barrels. The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Racing Green is fitted with a black calfskin strap with a Ceratanium pin buckle.
