Description:
A true gem in the independent watchmakers world. Today, we are glad to present the J.N Shapiro Infinity Series in Tantalum. J.N Shapiro is an upcoming California / US watchmaker and everything is done domestically. He is also the only person who had done a tantalum case outside of the Swiss The quality of the work is some of the best we’ve seen. The dial work alone can be compared to the greats like George Daniel or Roger Smith. Yes, it’s that good. The engine turning work is very impressive The dial features three different patterns done with extreme precision. This features a black ruthenium with a tantalum hour ring and rose gold accents The guilloche applied with precision. The dial also features Josh Shapiro’s trademark “infinity weave” pattern. The infinity weave pattern is his own invention, and he’s the only artisan in the world to do it. That tantalum case used for each of the new watches in the Infinity Series measures 39mm case by 47mm from Lug to Lug & thickness of 9.7mm. For your reference my wrist is 6 and a half inches The movement featured the UWD Caliber 33.1, a hand wound movement produced by Uhren Dresden Werke, for those with a keen eye you’ll notice the movement architecture is very similar to Lang & Heyne, one of the most impressive finishings we’ve personally seen. The reason the movement has similar aesthetic and finishing is because the movement is produced by a high-end German specialist who has made calibers used by Lang & Heyne, Sinn, and other brands. |
