The Panerai Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Ceramica. Model reference: PAM 335. The aesthetics of the Luminor 1950 case are enhanced by a line inspired by the history of Officine Panerai, but with an updated, improved design and great attention to detail. This luxury timepiece is a practical watch with an exquisite design and impressive power reserve. The square 44mm case is performed in brushed ceramic with rounded and curves angles. Officine Panerai uses a high-tech ceramic made of zirconium oxide (ZrO2). The material is made from powder which is isostatically pressed while the final shapes of the various components are formed by grinding. This high-tech ceramic has many different qualities: extreme hardness (up to five times greater than that of stainless steel), resistance to scratches and shocks and its surface has a very high aesthetic impact. The black dial has luminous Arabic Numerals and markers and sword-shaped translucent hands with luminous inlays for hour and minute indicating. The seconds sub-dial is placed at the 9 o’clock with an AM-PM indicator. The timepiece features a seconds reset mechanism. There is the date window at the 3 o’clock position. The central hand in an arrow shape serves for indicating time in the second timezone. The power reserve indicator is placed at the 6 o’clock. The mechanical self-winding P.2003 movement has 296 components and 25 jewels. It features an unbelievable 10-day power reserve. To achieve an extended power reserve Panerai introduced an innovative power train based on three barrels in series to provide excellent time-measuring performance throughout the whole period of the power reserve. By means of this system, the force of the spring remains almost constant for the whole duration of the winding, so as to optimise the movement’s accuracy and to reduce the wear of the components to a minimum. The P.2003 was the first automatic movement entirely designed and created by the Officine Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. It is an automatic calibre of advanced technical content with an exceptionally long power reserve of 10 days, displayed on the dial by a linear indicator. It has all the technical characteristics which form the DNA of the P.2000 series (free-sprung balance wheel with inertia regulation; 28,800 alternations per hour; three spring barrels; GMT function with 24-hour indication; rapid adjustment of local time; date; balance wheel stop; seconds reset device) but it is distinguished by having automatic winding with a power reserve of 10 days, operated by an oscillating weight mounted on a ball bearing, which winds the springs of the barrels as it rotates in both directions. The P.2003 calibre also has the seconds reset device which resets the seconds hand to zero, enabling the watch to be synchronised perfectly with a reference time signal. The timepiece is fitted on a black buffalo leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a tang buckle. It is 100m water resistant. The watch comes in original packaging, with a set of documents.
